[edit] Plot Summary

Cody, his sister Abby, her best friend Marcella, and Fig (their baby brother) are left by their parents on their grandparents' farm. Barney the purple dinosaur soon appears to entertain them. A shooting star deposits a large colorful egg, which is accidentally carted off. Barney and kids begin their adventure to recover it.

Jerry Herman wrote the title song, and Bernadette Peters sang it.
