Barlekha (Bengali: বড়লেখা) is an Upazila of Moulvibazar District in the Division of Sylhet, Bangladesh.

Barlekha is located at
. It has 33006 units of house hold and total area 501.65 km². Madhav Kunda (waterfall) the most famous natural attraction located in Barlekha. There is an abandoned oil field of Burma Eastern Oil company in Kesrigul area. It was a fully functional oil field but the British had to seal this off following a disastrous oil flood in which crude oil burst out of the well and flooded surrounding area. Asia's largest marshland Hakaluki Haor is situated in Barlekha.[edit] Demographics
As of 1991 Bangladesh censusGRBangladeh, Barlekha has a population of 200674. Males constitute are 49.86% of the population, and females 50.14%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 100537. Barlekha has an average literacy rate of 34.6% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. [1]
