Barilla S.p.A. (Barilla G. e R. Fratelli Società per Azioni) is one of the major Italian food companies. It was founded in 1877 in Parma, Italy. It controls Barilla, Mulino Bianco, Pavesi, Voiello and Academia Barilla (Italy), Wasabröd (Sweden), Misko (Greece), Filiz (Turkey), Yemina and Vesta (Mexico) trade marks. It produces several kinds of pasta. It claims to be the leading Italian pasta company[citation needed]. They have two plants, one in Parma, Italy and another in Ames, Iowa, USA.
