Barhalganj is a town and a nagar panchayat in Gorakhpur district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Barhalganj had a population of 19,171. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Barhalganj has an average literacy rate of 60%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with 58% of the males and 42% of females literate. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age. Barhalganj has one post graduate degree college affiliated to Gorakhpur University. It has some excellent private hospitals with all facilities.
