Barboursville is an unincorporated community in Orange County, Virginia, USA. Barboursville is famous for being the birthplace of the renowned American military commander and President, Zachary Taylor. It is also famous for the location of the home of James Barbour, former colonial era governor of Virginia. The ruins of his home are now on land owned by one of the Piedmont region's more popular wineries, Barboursville Vineyards. The Barbour home was designed by Thomas Jefferson and featured an octagonal room.
