Baramati is a small city in the India near Pune. It is located 99 km by road and 120 km by rail from Pune.

Agriculture is the main occupation of the people in Baramati. The main food crops grown include sugarcane,grapes, and cotton. Grapes and sugar are being exported to markets in the Middle East and Europe.

Baramati is home town of Indian political leader Sharad Pawar, who is currently Indian Union Agriculture Minister.

Baramati has Piaggio 3 wheelers manufacturing plant, Wine production industry, Britania cheese and other milk products industry, Tropicana fruit juice industry and many more industries.

Baramati also home to the Vidya Pratishthan University. There are Biotech, Engineering, Law, Computer Sciences colleges located here.

Baramati will be the first town in India to get Wimax Deployment.
