Baralt Theatre

The Barlat Theatre* (Teatro Baralt) is an important cultural complex located in Maracaibo, Venezuela. In July 28, 1877, General Rafael Parra, executive authority of the Zulia state, ordered the meeting for the reconstruction of the Theater of Maracaibo, the works with the demolition of the old building begin immediately placing the first stone of the new complex in October 7, 1877.
It was in a fresh morning of November 15, 1845, when in a transcendental meeting, the “Society of Industralists of the work”, under the Presidency of Mr. Jose Montaña Arrieta, recommended the president of the provincial Delegation, the quick construction of a theater.
This delegation emitted a decree in December 5, 1845, where it made official the same one, committing to carry the amount of 3 thousand pesos. But it was not but until year 1947 when one begins the yearned for project and the diligences for this significant gift to Maracaibo.
This Theatre is located in the corner of the streets Urdaneta and Venezuela
