Category talk:Baptist Wikipedians

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I won't belabor the point too much, but many Baptists, especially fundamental Baptists, would disagree with including Baptists in the "Protestant" category. The argument is that we trace our history back to the Anabaptists and other groups that always existed 'outside' the Catholic tradition. Therefore we never had to "protest" Catholicism because we were never in it.

Since, however, so many people (including many Baptists) tend to lump us in with the Protestants, I left the category as is. Roachmeister 19:53, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate categories?

Is there any reason why both this category and Category:Wikipedians in the Baptist church exist? Blarneytherinosaur 08:48, 27 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userboxes

  • Born Again Baptist Userbox

I have created a Baptist userbox, if anyone is interested.

It is here: User:NDCompuGeek/userboxes/born again Baptist

This user is a Born Again Baptist.

  • SBC Userbox

Personally created for all the Southern Baptists.

SBC† This user is a Southern Baptist

Here's the code:

{{Userbox |border-c=#000 |border-s=1 |id-c=#0000FF |id-s=12 |id-fc=#FFF|info-c=#C0C0C0 |info-s=8 |info-fc=#0000FF |id=SBC†|info=This user is a [[Southern Baptist Convention|Southern Baptist]]}}

Freely have I created, so freely I give.
