[edit] What is spam?

A list of software for bandwidth test has been removed from the article. Why? Wikipedia:Spam says that "differentiation should be made between spam articles and legitimate articles about commercial entities". Is it okay to put these back? Mange01 23:00, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Software for maximum throughput measurements

  • TPtest [1], which is developed on initiative by Swedish authorities, and measures the UDP and TCP maximum throughput from a central reference test server in Sweden to the user computer.
  • TPspeed [2] which includes a client similar to TPtest, and a reference test server.
  • Netfor2 RxTX [3], which measures the maximum throughput by simultaneously transferring files between the computer and multiple web servers.
  • IPNet Tuner [4], which can measure the link data rate with any destination IP adress, for example the nearest router.
  • Du Meter [5] which is logging the throughput (but not necessarily maximum throughput)
Please read our policy about what Wikipedia is not, particularly the section that states that Wikipedia is not a collection of external links. The list above is a list of commercial providers. The only links that should be included in the External links section are articles that tell the reader more about what a bandwidth test is and maybe one link to a repository of links to providers like DMOZ.
