[edit] Summary

The Kabuki actor Bandō Shūka I playing the role of Hashimotoya Shiraito in a print made by Utagawa Toyokuni III in 1860 (this could be related to the performance done by Bandō Shūka I in March 1852 at the Nakamura-za in the drama Sumidagawa Tsui no Kagamon)

Image and description taken from Kabuki21.com. This is an image of a print made over 140 years ago; as such, the print is definitively in the public domain. In the case that this particularly photography of it is not, it is surely fair use.

(The admin of Kabuki21.com, who does not claim to hold copyright to this photograph or scan of a public domain image, freely allows any content from his site to be used under fair use, given that a link to Kabuki21.com appears.)
