The Banpo Script is a name sometimes given to the markings on prehistoric artifacts found in Banpo, Shaanxi, and dates back to 5000 BC to 4000 BC. Some believe the markings to be a writing system relating the Oracle bone script, others doubt that the markings represent writing at all.
