Bannerghatta Road

Bannerghatta Road is a Karnataka State Highway which connects Bangalore City through Bannerghatta village through Jigani finally reaching Anekal taluk.
Bannerghatta road previously had the name Anekal road. Over the years, because of the popularity of Bannerghatta National Park, a major tourist attraction, this road is now being called Bannerghatta road.
The road was mainly used by tourists traveling to the Bannerghatta National Park. After the year 2000, Bannerghatta Road saw a host of IT companies setting up base through out its stretch in the city and its outskirts. Some IT companies who have a presence on this road include RSA Security, Sterling Commerce, Oracle Corporation, Honeywell, IBM, EMC Corporation,Accenture, HSBC, Trilogy, Convergys and BPL Software. This was followed by many real estate developers investing money in the locality. As a result, Bannerghatta Road has witnessed a lot of real estate development. The road is also hub for granite & marbel retailers.
The main junctions and traffic hotspots on this road are at Dairy Circle, BTM Checkpost area, Bilekahalli, Arekere Gate, Hulimavu Gate, Gottegere, Bannerghatta circle, Koppa gate, Jigani Industrial area.
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, one of India's premier business schools, is also located on Bannerghatta Road.
Recently, Bannerghatta Road is becoming home to a number of reputed hospitals like the Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology[1], Sagar Appolo hospital, Wockhardt & Apollo Hospital.
