Bankinter, S.A., (IBEX-35:BKT) (Banco Intercontinental Español) is a Spanish commercial bank founded in 1965 as a joint venture between Banco Santander and Bank of America, neither of which is currently an owner. In 1972 it became fully independent of its founders and floated on the Madrid Stock Exchange, where its shares became one of the components of the IBEX-35.
