Bani Suwayf

Bani Suwayf is a city in Bani Suwayf Governorate, Egypt. Other spellings are: Beni Sueif, Beni Swaif, Beni Sweif, Beni Suaif, and Beni Suef. Beni Swaif is probably the closest to how it is pronounced in Arabic but most spellings on maps, road signs and of course Microsoft and Google Maps etc. it is written "Beni Suef" The town is about 115km (72 miles) south of Cairo.
A train accident in 1995 near Bani Suwayf left 75 people dead.[1]
It is the site of the Beni Sweif Cultural Palace Fire that occurred on September 5, 2005, killing 46 people.
