Bangladesh International School, commonly known as BIS, is a private school located in New DOHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was founded in 1995.

Bangladesh International School is an English medium institution managed by the Station Headquarters, Dhaka Cantonment. It is following the national as well as the international curriculum of London University and accordingly preparing the students for Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C) and O Level Examinations. The prime objective behind its creation is to serve the Bangladeshi and foreign communities in Dhaka city specially those living in DOHS, Cantonment area and its periphery. The idea of having an English medium school for the children of armed forces personnel had inspired the young officers of the army who had school going children to propose for such an institution. It was in fact a dream came true of Mr S M Al Mamun the then DML & C, lone life member of the school and Colonel A T M N Choudhury (Retd), the then Station Commander and Founder Chairman of Bangladesh International School,'who fulfilled the demand of the armed forces personnel for the proper education of their children. The foundation stone of the school building was laid by Mr S M Al Mamun on the 2nd April 1994. It was decided in late 1994 that the school would commence on the premises of the building in 1995 with a view to starting the school with five classes from Play Group to Standard 1. It was proposed that it would be developed to have classes leading up to the A Level standard eventually. BIS proudly remember the contributions of the subsequent Chairman Brig Gen Abdul Mannan Mia, ndu, psc (Retd), Brig Gen Shah Md Mohiuddin (Retd), Brig Gen Abdus Salam Chowdhury (Retd) and Colonel Mohsin Ahmed Choudhury, psc. (Retd) Brig Gen Jahangir Alam, psc and our present Chairman Colonel Salahuddin Ahmed for the development of the institution.
