Dr. Bangalore Venkata Raman was a most renowned astrologer, especially for his predictive skill. He was the author of numerous books of instruction and research papers in the field of Indian Vedic Astrology (Jyotish), and traveled all over the world giving lectures. The Astrological Magazine, still current and popular, was founded by him in 1936, and he remained editor until his passing in 1998. Furthermore, he was the Founder-President of the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences. By his accuracy in prediction he was widely influential in his demonstration of the cosmic principles of Vedic astrology. Since his passing the work of Dr. Raman was taken up by Gayatri Devi Vasudev who is presently the Editor of The Astrological Magazine.
