Bandishola

Bandishola (Tamil: பாண்டிசோழா) is a Panchayat village in Coonoor Taluk of the The Nilgiris District, Tamil Nadu, India. The town takes its name from a nearby Shola (evergreen forest).

It is located approximately 5 km away from Coonoor on the Coonoor to Kotagiri road and on the crossroads between this route and a road to Aravenu which is situated on the Kotagiri Ghat Road. Another smaller road links Bandishola directly to Wellington Cantonment.

Providence College (A women's college) is located close to the village. Bandishola is perhaps best known as a vehicle stop due to the now world famous corner Tea Shop (located on the crossroads of the Aravenu, Coonoor and Kotagiri Road). This popular traditional family run business provides travellers and locals with hot tea (Chai) from local estates and freshly made Potato Bonda for which the village is getting a reputation. The tea shop has lately become a destination in itself.
