[edit] Geography

The Bandiat begins its course south of the Puy Chauvet (488 m), at the area of 400 m above sea level, near the settlement of Grand Puyconnieux (commune of Dournazac) in Haute-Vienne. The river flows to the west and north in the Dordogne and, at high water level, empties into the Tardoire (Charente River basin) in Agris in Charente. Otherwise, the river disappears near Les Vieilles Vaures (commune of Agris) about 5 km from the Tardoire. All the water disappears in the karst to reappear near Angoulême in the river Touvre, a tributary of the Charente.

[edit] Hydrology

The flowing rate of the Bandiat by Feuillade is around 0.6 m³/s in the summer and 6 m³/s in the winter.
