Bambi and Her Pink Gun (just Bambi in Japan) is a manga series by Atsushi Kaneko; a rock-n-roll explosion of madness and mayhem, girl-power to the extreme, and more blood than you can poke at; BAHPG is a Quentin Tarantino film set to Japanese comicbook.

[edit] Plot

Bambi and Her Pink Gun centers around a sixteen year old girl named Bambi, who has kidnapped a young boy from a crazy vampire star and is taking him back to the 'Old Men'. The story is extremely violent, but all around quite fun, as every new scene takes on another look and feel (Western, Latino, the 40s, traditional Japanese, etc.). Though the translations are lacking, the artwork is simply brilliant, since it pulls away from the same old manga look and actually uses more traditional realistic comic methods.

[edit] Main Characters

Bambi A "monster with preservation instincts", she's gun-tottin', almost primal killer with absolutely no care who or why she slays. Not much is known yet about her, but what we can see is that she knows very little about the human race, since she shows no emotion or care for anyone else but herself, and for some reason always uses the term "Me Bambi" to introduce herself. She is also a militant purity fanatic; only consuming the cleanest water, freshest fruits and vegetables, and protein powders. Bambi is also a virgin and will never ever have sex, calling it a disgusting act, and hits anyone who lays a finger on her.

Pampi A mysterious little boy that Bambi was asked to kidnap from Gabba King and bring to the 'Old Men', who loves nothing more than to eat junk food.

Tanahashi Twenty-year-old typical boy who is traveling the globe to hunt Bambi down. Which side he's on is questionable. Tanahashi was about to be killed by hitmen until Bambi 'saved' his life and set him free, when in actuality she was protecting herself and needed the car that he was attached to. He was aware then of the bounty on her and Pampi's heads and had even made it far enough to Gabba King and became a spy. It would seem he'd want to kill her, except that he'd actually found her and told her he was a spy and that he wanted to help her, even killing a trucker to save her, but she didn't take it too well and ditched him yet again.

[edit] Secondary Characters

Gabba King A fat, disgusting, evil, vampiric pop-star who has a resemblance to Elvis. He put out the search notice to have Bambi killed and Pampi brought back for a reward of $500,000,000; and his need for Pampi is still as much of a mystery as the boy himself, except that King commented that he was "his future". King has a way with women, as his music turns anyone who listens to it on to such a degree that the viewers in a concert will break out into an orgy. He was also rumored to take hundreds of girls every single night and satisfy every one of them. Unfortunately, the truth was that he was beating them to death.

Charlie Gabba King's drag queen servant, also of whom not much is known, except that he's weird, misogynistic, and very short.

Platinum Mask The newest villain in the story. Once a very successful professional boxer, he's an immortal with a secret deformity under his mask, which he never removes. He'd been alive for over a hundred and fifty years, living in the alleys and torturing small animals and killing anyone who happened by. His ways of murder are incredibly savage, such as punching off the top of a man's skull, pull out intestines, and most popular crushing heads with one hand. As we can plainly tell, he is filled with an excessive amount of rage that is so strong and psychotic that even Bambi will have a very difficult time defeating him.

Mama A horrible Western woman and a master of violence with a Rasputin-complex (never dies), Mama is the leader of 'Mama's Gang', one of the most notorious gangs in the world. Brutal and an all-around dysfunctional killer, Bambi had to go to the extreme of lighting Mama on fire and finally blowing her up to kill her.

Old Men Practically nothing is known about these guys, except that they're old, weak, and need Pampi. Gabba King has had problems with them in the past, but has never been able to kill them. They are also shown around the books at times, watching Bambi.
