Bamba, Mali

Bamba is a Malian city, in the Bourem cercle of the Gao Region. It is located on the Niger River, 190 km from Timbuktu and 230 km from the city of Gao.
The commune of Bamba includes 19 villages and 7 nomadic population groups over an area of 8,100 sq. km. In 1998, the population of the commune was around 27,000 people, primarily Songhais but also Tuaregs and Bozos.
