[edit] Merge
Ballinasloe Town Council should be an independent article, featuring members and history of the council. It is only an aspect of the town, and should be kept seperate, in such a way as an article about the Hospital would be. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ojis (talk • contribs).
Some are of the opinion tha the elected councillors have had their power usurped -as with all local councils- by the officials who run the council. These officials are not obliged to live in the area that is (effectively) under their control. This means that, of neccessity, their views on the welfare of and their opinions about the town itself will not co-incide. The councillors themselves will always have the interest of the town at heart but their wishes can and are often ignored. The council's entry should be a separate one. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.2.169.247 (talk • contribs).
I agree that the two articles should be left seperate, the governing body has little to do with the history of the town.
- Since you three seem to agree that the other article should remain independent, I will remove the merge tag from both articles. If someone disagrees, go ahead and re-add it and state your reasoning here. Pepsidrinka 21:34, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
