- Ball (anatomy) = ball of the foot
- Um, I don't understand the reason why that would be removed. It's every bit as valid an association as the one with testicles. - IstvanWolf 17:17, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Flight
I hear "ball" used in the context of flight. Notably when a pilot is landing a plane. I assume it means "they have the runway" or something. Can anyone explain this or confirm I'm not a loon. Latter is a hard task, so how about confirm that it's a real usage? :) Cburnett 07:19, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- I remember the phrase "I have the ball" from Top Gun, and guess what: I have the ball means that a pilot is set up on the proper glide path for a carrier landing. I'n not sure we could make an article out of this. Josh Parris 23:22, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

- My point exactly. I'm sure someone with a deep knowledge and deep love for the subject could work something up, but, really, who cares? Josh Parris 23:33, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

- I would read an article on what it means and how it came to be. Historical context, etc. Doubt I'd author it, but I'd definitely read it. Cburnett 23:48, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
