In Los Angeles in the '30s we were privileged to see the Jooss Ballet dance "The Green Table" which was a satire on politicians of the world trying to come to terms with a peace agreement, frequently backing out and falling to disorder, only to assemble and try again. There was, however, no clear success, but the ballet was extremely effective in its simplicity -- nothing on stage except the dancers posturing silently but effectively around the edges of a big table covered with green felt. I am sorry not to know the details of the music. Apparently the dance itself was what impressed me most at the time. ~Jean Gerard75.15.151.163
