The current Baltimore County State's Attorney is Scott Schellenberger. Scott Schellenberger took over on January 2, 2007 and replaced Sandra O'Connor.
Sandra O'Connor has been the Baltimore County State's Attorney since 1974. Sandra O'Connor retired in January of 2007.
During the 2006 general election Steve Bailey and Scott Schellenberger squared off for State's Attorney of Baltimore County, MD.

Scott Schellenberger will serve a four year term until he will be back up for re-election in 2011.

The office is responsible for prosecuting felony, misdemeanor and juvenile cases in Baltimore County [1], Maryland.

The office currently employs over 45 attorneys to handle the case load in the District, Juvenile, and Circuit Courts of Baltimore County, MD.
