Balmertown is a community in the municipality of Red Lake, Ontario. It has an approximate population of 1300 and was named after a local lake. Balmertown is a mining town and currently is home to two gold mines. These gold mines are now fully owned by Goldcorp Canada Ltd. The mines are Campbell Mine, formly owned by Placer Dome and the Red Lake Mine.
