Ballymote (Irish: Baile an Mhóta) is a town in County Sligo, Ireland.
Local pubs include Fawlty Towers, Doddy's, Haydens, The Rock Bar and Tighes.
The Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg unveiled Ireland's national monument to the The 69th Infantry Regiment (aka The Fighting 69th) and Michael Corcoran in Ballymote on 22 August 2006.
Currently Ballymote are trying to reclaim the Book of Ballymote to attract tourism to the area[citation needed].
