Ballistic Publishing
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ballistic Publishing produces books showcasing the works of digital artists worldwide, focusing both upon display of finished works and tutorials detailing the processes by which such works were created.
In addition to producing books Ballistic Publishing enhances the digital arts community through cooperation with The CGSociety (The Computer Graphics Society). Ballistic Publishing is based in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, with offices in Melbourne (Victoria, Australia) and Tampa (Florida, USA).
[edit] Support of Digital Art Communities
Digital artists worldwide participate in "CG Challenges" managed by Ballistic Publishing's sister organization, The CGSociety. These contests are run four times a year on CGNetworks.com and its CGTalk.com forums, challenging digital artists to compete in the creation of cutting edge artwork. CG Challenges produce digital art cooperatively through an online workshop approach in which contestants share their work-in-progress images and tutorials for other artists to critique, study, and improve. Ballistic Publishing produces the The CG Challenge books series to celebrate these online contests in a permanent, printed medium.
