Balgowlah Heights, New South Wales

Balgowlah Heights is a suburb of Sydney, Australia, and generally considered a wealthy Northern Beaches suburb. It is part of Manly Council. Adjoining the areas of Seaforth, Clontarf and Manly itself, the suburb has houses that exceed $A 5 million mark (though $1.2 million is more normal). All roads in the suburb are kerbed and sealed.

Situated on a ridge up to 80 m above Middle Harbour and North Harbour, some houses have panoramic views of the Spit Bridge looking to the Sydney CBD and Eastern Suburbs. The suburb features remnant Sydney Harbour bushland, contained in the National Park around Dobroyd Head and Grotto Point. Tania Park at the eastern fringe offers relaxed recreation and one can watch the Manly ferry cut its way to Circular Quay. The postcode for Balgowlah Heights is 2093, the same as Balgowlah, reflecting that the area was not developed until the 1960's.

The suburb is located 11 km north of the central business district (7 km as the crow flies)and Manly is 2 km north-east of Balgowlah, 3 km if you walk around the coastal walkway. The schools include Balgowlah Heights Public School. Balgowlah Heights is in the federal electorate of Warringah (a seat held by Tony Abbott of the Liberal Party of Australia), the state electorate of Manly (a seat held by Independent MP David Barr) and is within the local council area of Manly.
