Baldati.org is an online network aimed at linking expatriates from Lebanon with their villages back home. Baldati.com gives information about population of the villages, its maps and related information. Linking up through this network, some village areas tackle problems of their current concern.

[edit] Linking up

Baldati offers to link up Lebanese expats -- who are in significant numbers across the globe -- with "people from your village interested in internet". It allows those interested to be "a manager and contribute on the reform of our Lebanese community on the net". It urges those using the site to "invite all your Lebanese friends to join Baldati.com and log to their Villages."

It describes itself as a "Baldati Bridge between the locals and the emigrants".

[edit] Lebanese migration

A century and a half of migration and return have produced Lebanese commercial networks around the globe from North and South America to Europe, the Persian Gulf, and Africa. Lebanon has a high proportion of skilled labor comparable to most European nations.
