Balaganj is located at 24.6667° N 91.8333° E . It has 36919 units of house hold and total area 389.51 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^GRBangladeh, Balaganj has a population of 230865. Males constitute are 50.67% of the population, and females 49.33%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 115624. Balaganj has an average literacy rate of 31.4% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[1]
