As of 1991 Bangladesh census^GRBangladeh, Baksiganj has a population of 157403. Males constitute are 50.8% of the population, and females 49.2%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 76635. Baksiganj has an average literacy rate of 17.4% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[1]
