Bakshi

Bakshi are found among both Hindu and Muslim Punjabis as well as Kashmiris .
The Hindu Punjabi are Aryans and belong to the Khatri caste. They traditionally belonged to areas of Punjab and the NWFP that now fall in Pakistan. They were displaced from their traditional homes and relocated in India at the time of the partition of India in 1947. These Hindu Bakshi now live in Delhi as well as other areas of India.
