Bakersfield P.D.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bakersfield P.D. was a short-lived American television comedy series that aired on Fox in 1993-94.
The show was based in the police department of the city of Bakersfield, California. It was shot with naturalistic lighting and without a laugh track. The show only ran for one season before being cancelled due to low ratings.
The now-defunct Trio (TV network) re-aired the show as part of its Brilliant But Cancelled series. Recently, Universal Studios Home Entertainment released two DVD collections of series featured on Brilliant But Cancelled — Paul Haggis' EZ Streets and the John Cassavetes series Johnny Staccato. Universal is planning to put out a few more editions of Brilliant But Cancelled DVDs, but hasn't announced when, or which shows will be included. There is now an active online petition to bring the show to DVD.
