Baker, Missouri

Baker is a village located in Stoddard County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 5. According to the United States Census Bureau, it is one of only eight places in the United States with a population of five people. The others are Storrie, California; Bear Head Lake, Minnesota; Gross, Nebraska; Odell, New Hampshire; Maza, North Dakota; Somerset, Vermont; and Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Due to its extremely small population of high income residents, Baker is 3rd on the list of the highest income places in the United States.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there are 5 people, 2 households, and 1 family residing in the village. The population density is 9.2/km² (24.1/mi²). There are 2 housing units at an average density of 3.7/km² (9.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 100.00% White.

There are two households out of which 50.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% are married couples living together, and 50.0% are non-families. 50.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 50.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.50 and the average family size is 4.00.

In the village the population is spread out with no person under the age of 18, one person of age 19, one from 20 to 24, two persons from 45 to 54, and one person who is 65 to 74 years of age. The median age is 47.5 years. There are three female inhabitants and two male inhabitants. All three female inhabitants and one of the two male inhabitants are 18 years or older.

The median income for a household in the village is $177,361, as is median income for a family . Males have a median income of $100,000 versus $79,631 for females. The per capita income for the village is $182,000. The single family is not below the poverty line.
