Bakary Soumare (b. 9 November 1985 in Mali [1]) is an American soccer player who currently plays in the MLS for the Chicago Fire.

Bakary was born in Mali but moved to Paris, France at a young age [2], before moving to New York as a teenager [3].

He played for La Salle Academy, a catholic high school located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

He played for the University of Virginia during his freshman season, playing 20 out of 21 games [4].
