BAKSAL
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bangladesh Krishak Sramik Awami League was the political amalgmation of the Awami League with the Krishak Sramik Party that supported President Mujibur Rahman in governing Bangladesh. All other political parties were outlawed at the time, and the period from 1973 to 1975 in which BAKSAL existed, was seen as a one-party dictatorship. The BAKSAL dissolved after Rahman's assassination on August 15, 1975, and the KSP and League became independent political parties. The party advocated state socialism.
