Bajpe is a small town located in the city of Tulu Nadu ,i.e. Mangalore. Bajpe is around 18KM from the heart of the city of Mangalore and 8KM from Kateel, the sacred place for Hindus, temple dedicated to Goddess Durga Parameshwari, connects to Kinnigoli via Kateel, Muchur via Permude, Gurpur and BC Road via Kaikamba and to Suratkal via MRPL. Sri Kshetra Sunkadakatte which runs many educational institutes and St Joseph's Junior College are the landmark in Bajpe.Recently new buildings have come up and Bajpe is developing at a faster rate.ONGC has started a multi crore project near Bajpe. The Mangalore International Airport is located at Bajpe and is popularly known as the Bajpe Aerodrome. Recently it has turned into an international airport. Airlines from dubai are seen .Prior to the construction of the new runway which can land A320 type aircraft, only the smaller A319 and B737 could land. It also used to be one of India's most dangerous airports, as landing on the old runway (still being used) did not give much leeway to the pilot since the runway is on a table top.

Another interesting event in Bajpe's history is the visit by the former Pope, John Paul II. He laid the foundation stone for Bajpe Parish's church which has St. Joseph as its patron saint.
