Bajaj Chetak
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bajaj Chetak was an Indian-made motor scooter that was highly influential in setting modern India on wheels. It was produced by the Bajaj Auto company.
The Chetak is named after Chetak, the legendary horse of Indian warrior Rana Pratap Singh.
Originally based on the Italian Vespa, the Chetak was the only choice for millions of Indian families as an affordable way of transport for decades. But in the face of new modern competition, the Chetak is finally losing ground in India. Production ceased on 31 December 2005. The remaining stock will be on sale until March 2006.
