Badminton competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics will be held from August 9 to August 17.

5 sets of medals will be awarded in the following events:
- Singles Men
- Doubles Men
- Singles Women
- Doubles Women
- Doubles Mixed
[edit] Qualifying Criteria
An NOC may enter up to 3 qualified athletes in each event. A total of 64 athletes will qualify for each singles event and 16 pairs will qualify for each doubles event. A maximum of 3 players/pairs per event per National Olympic Committee (NOC) is allowed.
The main qualifying criteria will be the IBF Ranking List as of May 1, 2008. It will provide a total of 16 pairs in each doubles event and 38 athletes in each singles event, in the following manner:
- Rankings 1-4
- Players/pairs will be taken in turn unless a NOC has already qualified 3 players/pairs.
- Rankings 5-16
- Players/pairs will be taken in turn unless a NOC has already qualified 2 players/pairs.
- Rankings 17+
- Players/pairs will be taken in turn unless a NOC has already qualified 1 player/pair.
Each continent is guaranteed one entry in each event. If this is not satisfied by the entry selection method described above, the highest ranking player/pair will be qualified. If there is no player/pair in the rankings, the winner of the most recently contested Continental Championship will be qualified.
The host nation (People's Republic of China) shall be entitled to enter 2 players in total, but more than 2 players are permitted if they all qualified under qualifying regulations.
