BADR4

BADR4 (aka Arabsat 4B) is a new satellite by Arabsat, launched November 8, 2006, with an expected commercial availability to be announced. This new satellite carries 32 transponders in Ku-band/FSS & Ku-band/BSS. The spacecraft utilizes Aerospatiale's Spacebus 3000 platform to carry 22 C-band transponders (including eight 52 W moderate power transponders) and 12 Ku-band transponders. Arabsat 2 spacecraft has a mass of more than two metric tons on station. The maximum dimensions of the spacecraft bus is 1.8 m by 2.3 m, and the solar array span is 25 m for a 5 kW electrical power capacity.
