Bacon bits

Bacon bits are either small, crumbled pieces of cooked bacon or, more frequently, textured vegetable protein artificially flavored to resemble bacon. In the United States, they are commonly used as a condiment to enhance the flavor of salad or potatoes, and are a common element of salad bars. Popular brands include Hormel Bacon Toppings, Oscar Meyer Real Bacon Bits and Pieces, and Betty Crocker Bac~Os Bacon Bits.
