Baco is a 4th class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 30,167 people in 5,717 households.

Baco is located on the northern part of Oriental Mindoro. It is bounded to the north by the Verde Island Passage, to the east by Calapan City and Naujan to the south by Santa Cruz and Sablayan in Occidental Mindoro province, and to the west by San Teodoro.
