[edit] Backian history

It is said that in the ancient times there came humans sailing from the north on long boats settling by the coasts along the Twin bay. According to historians of today it was strong sea currents that brought them from Draimgard over the great oceans to the northern coast of Disia. The humans, who settled, in the Karpland (the area surrounding the former Lake Karp) soonly came in contact with the native prehistoric tomtes and initiated a harmonic time together. As the tomtes for the first time saw the tall humans walk out of their long boats they assumed them for being gods. Therefor the tomtes now has started to develop a devoted idolization of the humans. For thousands of years the humans lived in the Karpland where they cultivated the soil and grew up cattle. During ”The Great Strike” they fled over the wild Kuf rapids and into the highly unknown Backe where they met the Disians. For several millennies the disians had developed an advanced culture with the tempel of Susia as a centre. Year 199 SE the humans founded the city of Farg, where also many disians later moved. The humans and disians has come to live side by side in the cities without greater complications. Lately Backe also has received a contribution of Schytian arboles and satyrs from Aakendal. The Backe humans (“backians”) mainly live on farming, stockraising and trade. Despite that most of the humans settled in Backe after ”The Great Strike” some of them opted to stay in the growing and poisoned swamps (see: Vareens), or to cross the Stream of Sadness into Sorgendal (see: Ulvmen). The humans master most weapons, yet selldom or never such that includes magic or poison.
