Back to Duel (Japanese: 運命のはじまり！新入生エド・フェニックス, The Beginning of Destiny! A New Student, Ed Phoenix) is the 53rd episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX). It was first broadcast in Japan on October 5, 2005 and after in USA on August 21, 2006.

The second year begins, and no sooner does it start than Jaden is challenged by the new student, A.P. A.P.'s Archlord deck keeps Jaden on his toes, but just as Jaden pulls out a win, he is shocked to learn he just dueled Aster Phoenix, freshman student and a legendary Pro League duelist.
