Back to Black is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, released by Island Records in October 2006 (see 2006 in music). The album contains the singles "Rehab" and "You Know I'm No Good". A third single, "Back to Black", is set for release on April 30, 2007.

During its first two weeks on sale, Back to Black sold a total of 70,784 copies in the UK, including 43,021 in its first week. By the end of the year, the album had been certified platinum (300,000 copies shipped). To date, the album has sold more than 764,000 copies in the UK, and for the week ending January 27, 2007, sold 30,000 copies more than any other album.

It achieved its peak of number one on the UK Albums Chart for the week ending January 20, 2007, and with sales of 467,000 is currently the UK's biggest-selling album of 2007. On February 25, 2007, Back to Black climbed from a number two position to number one, making it three weeks at the top.

In December 2006 the album was released in Canada and on February 3, 2007 in Australia. It was released in the United States officially on March 13, 2007 via Universal Republic, though it sold well on imports before.[citation needed] The tracklist for the U.S. release is the same as the non-U.K. international release with an extra track, "You Know I'm No Good" featuring Ghostface Killah. The album debuted on the U.S. Billboard 200 at number seven, selling about 51,000 copies in its first week on the chart.[1] The album only fell three spots to #10 in its second week of release, selling 48,000 copies, bringing her U.S. sales to just under 100,000. To date it has sold nearly 150,000 copies in the United States. Upon the week of release in the U.S., copies had the same cover as all other versions, however, the following week copies with alternate covers were found in store.

The album is currently ranked at number eight on Metacritic's Best Albums of 2007.[2]

It was recently released in Brazil, entering the chart at #30.
