Back for the Attack is the 4th album by heavy metal band Dokken, released on November 27, 1987. The album charted at #13 on the billboard U.S. charts, selling over two million copies in the U.S. and over 4 million copies worldwide.

Back For The Attack proved to be Dokken's darkest album. As a result, the band managed to maintain its credibility with its fanbase. Some had feared that Dokken would pursue a more commercial direction in the wake of the major success of their previous album Under Lock And Key. Such concern proved to be unnecessary. Back For The Attack proved to be the band's heaviest album yet.

Other tracks included "Heaven Sent" and "Burning Like A Flame" (#79 on the Billboard Hot 100), as well as the George Lynch instrumental "Mr Scary". The album includes a slightly remixed re-release of the song "Dream Warriors". The song was first released earlier in 1987 as the theme song for the movie A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. This would be their last studio album until 1995 due to the band's breakup. The members went on to other bands or a solo artists for nearly 8 years.
