Bacillus mycoides is a bacterium of the genus Bacillus.

It forms chains of cells, is non motile, and can form acid from glucose. It's cell body does not swell when sporulating, and is usually larger than 3 micrometres. Using the test Vosges-Prostkauer, Bacillus mycoides produces a positive result. It can also hydrolyse starch.
