Bachelor of Liberal Arts

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bachelor of Liberal Arts (B.L.A.; occasionally A.L.B.) is the title of an undergraduate academic degree. Generally, it is awarded to students who major in liberal arts, pursue interdisciplinary studies, or design their own concentrations.

Often a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree is undertaken with the help of a faculty advisor. A candidate designs a unique course of study that sometimes culminates in a thesis or capstone project. The B.L.A. degree allows for greater curricular flexibility than a traditional Bachelor of Arts degree, enabling students to double major, or pursue a broad-based liberal arts education.
