Barrett R. Steed, (born September 29, 1986) is a US musician, the lead guitarist and vocals in heavy metal, math rock band Arcita. Looking to relationships between mathematical occurences and natural phenomenon for inspiration, Steed's unique blend of post-metal riffs along with powerful choruses relate him with other guitarist such as Adam Jones of Tool, Josh Homme of Kyuss, and favoring the Deftones' Stephen Carpenter.

Steed was born to a Southern Baptist family in Crockett, Texas. He attended private school until moving on to a public school in the area, where he would graduate in 2005. He currently attends Baylor University where he studies Political Science.
