B.J. Flores

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Benjamin Flores (born January 29, 1979 in San Francisco, CA) is a US American Cruiserweight boxer of Mexican descent.

[edit] Amateur career

Flores had a stellar amateur career prior to turning professional. In 1997 he won the National_Golden_Gloves Light Heavyweight title. He won the National AAU Heavyweight Championship (limit 201lbs) twice, in 2001 and 2002. In 2002 he beat Devin Vargas. His record was 110-9.

[edit] Professional career

Known as "El Peligroso", Vargas turned professional in 2003 and is undefeated, albeit against limited opposition thus far. He started as a heavyweight but didn't feel strong there so he dropperd down to cruiser where he can fight more aggressively. He has been dropped there, too, however.
